Century Regional Jail Overview
Century Regional Detention Facility, commonly called CRDF, is operated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in Lynwood. LASD policy describes CRDF as a maximum-security, direct-supervision facility responsible for booking and housing prisoners at Century Station. Public health inspection material in the research identifies it as an all-female jail facility responsible for booking and housing female inmates within Los Angeles County. It is a county jail facility, so current custody lookup runs through LASD IIC.
CRDF is separate from the downtown male custody campus. Men's Central Jail and Twin Towers serve male housing and treatment roles downtown, while IRC is the male processing hub. CRDF handles female county custody and uses a different mail address from the general male inmate mail address. A woman sentenced to state prison will eventually move to the CDCR system, and a federal or immigration detainee will need the appropriate federal or ICE locator rather than the LASD roster.
CRDF Female Inmate Population
The LASD 2024 Custody Division Population Year End Review lists Century Regional Detention Facility with a BSCC rated capacity of 1,708 and a 2024 yearly facility ADIP of 1,309. The same facility-capacity table shows CRDF 399 under rated capacity, or 23 percent below capacity, for that measure. The CRDF Reception Center is listed separately as unrated with 2024 ADIP of 2.
| CRDF Measure | Research Figure |
|---|---|
| Facility type | Maximum-security direct-supervision female county jail |
| BSCC rated capacity | 1,708 |
| 2024 facility ADIP | 1,309 |
| CRDF Reception Center | Unrated, 2024 ADIP of 2 |
| Inspection-period daily range | Research notes describe about 1,300 to 1,800 female inmates per day in the inspected period |
ADIP is an annual average. It is not the same as a current live roster count. A person may be booked, released, transferred, or moved after the reporting period, so current CRDF custody must be verified through LASD IIC or the inmate information line.
CRDF Roster Search
Use the LASD Inmate Information Center to search for a current female inmate at Century Regional Detention Facility. The portal requires last name and first name, allows optional middle name and date of birth, and uses reCAPTCHA. LASD warns that records are not available for bookings that occurred within the last two hours. For a new arrest, the CRDF reception and booking process may be ahead of the public web record.
- Open LASD IIC and search by first and last name.
- Add date of birth for common names or spelling variations.
- Confirm that the location shows Century Regional Detention Facility or another LASD facility.
- Call (213) 473-6100 if the booking is too new, the person has moved, or the record is unclear.
- Use CDCR, BOP, or ICE only if the person is no longer in Los Angeles County jail custody.
The LASD Booking Log can help with recent booking-event searches by station and date range, but it is a separate tool from the current custody locator. Court charges after a CRDF booking must be checked through Los Angeles Superior Court after a case is filed.
CRDF Address and Contact
CRDF has a Lynwood address and a business phone in addition to the countywide inmate information line. The facility directions research says CRDF is between the 110 and 710 freeways, south of the 105 freeway, and that visitors coming from the 105 freeway use the Wilmington Avenue exit. Exact entry, parking, and visit instructions should still be confirmed through official LASD sources before travel.

Use the business number for facility-specific public questions and the inmate information line for custody location help. Use the court, not LASD, for final case disposition or formal charge status.
CRDF Visit Scheduling
Century Regional Detention Facility visits must be checked through the LASD visit scheduling portal and LASD visit advisement. The research does not provide fixed CRDF hours, and LASD says public visiting guidelines differ by facility. Visit status may be blocked by classification, discipline, security, temporary housing, or other custody reasons. Women booked into CRDF may also be in a reception or movement stage that affects visit access.
| CRDF Visit Topic | Official Guidance to Use |
|---|---|
| Scheduling | Use the LASD visit portal after confirming the inmate is housed at CRDF. |
| Facility hours | Check the portal because schedules differ by jail and can change. |
| Visit status N | May mean no visits due to classification, discipline, security, or another restriction. |
| Former prisoner, parole, or probation visitor | Unit Commander approval is required and can take up to one month. |
| Identification | Bring valid government photo identification and follow current portal rules. |
A CRDF visit should not be planned from an old search result. Verify the inmate's current location, booking number, and visit eligibility close to the appointment date.
CRDF Mail and Money
CRDF has a female inmate mail address that differs from the general LASD male inmate PO Box. Mail must include the inmate name and booking number. LASD mail rules also require envelopes and paper to be free of debris, illegal substances, perfume, cologne, powders, lipstick, dried liquids, and similar issues. Mail or parcels contrary to regulations may be returned intact to the sender.
| Service | Century Regional Detention Facility Detail |
|---|---|
| Female inmate mail | Inmate Name, Booking Number, Century Regional Detention Facility, 11705 S. Alameda Street, Lynwood, CA 90262 |
| Online inmate deposits | LASD IIC says online deposits have not been accepted since February 15, 2015. |
| Care packages | LASD links Access Catalog for commissary or care package resources. |
| Phone accounts | LASD FAQ links GTL/ViaPath resources for prepaid calling accounts. |
| Records and property | Use LASD records or facility channels after confirming current custody and booking number. |
Do not use the downtown male inmate mail PO Box for CRDF female mail when the research provides the Lynwood address. Also do not send CDCR or BOP funds unless the person has transferred out of LASD county custody.
CRDF Booking and Custody
CRDF is the female custody counterpart to the downtown male jail processing path. LASD policy describes CRDF as responsible for booking and housing prisoners at Century Station, while broader research explains that female bookings and releases appear in daily inmate statistics separately from male IRC numbers. On January 15, 2025 daily statistics, the research captured January 14 female activity at CRDF reception as 43 bookings, 23 releases, 8 court releases, and 31 total releases. Those are daily report figures, not a general daily promise.
After a CRDF booking, charges in a jail record should be treated as booking or arrest charges until the prosecutor files formal court charges. For case number, filing date, filing location, and case summary information, use Los Angeles Superior Court. For custody location, use LASD IIC. For state prison, federal, and ICE custody, use the separate locators. The broader Los Angeles County inmate population page explains how the county jail population differs from state and federal custody.
Note: Confirm CRDF custody, mail address, and visit eligibility with LASD before sending mail or traveling to Lynwood.
