NCCF Jail Overview

North County Correctional Facility is operated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department as one of the largest facilities in the Pitchess Detention Center complex. Its address follows the Pitchess sequence after East, North, and South. The research describes NCCF as a large county correctional facility holding male Los Angeles County inmates, including pretrial and sentenced county populations and facility-specific programs.

The word "Correctional" can confuse searchers. NCCF is not California State Prison, Los Angeles County, and it is not part of CDCR. It is also not a BOP facility or an ICE detention center. Current custody is searched through LASD IIC. After a person is sentenced and transferred to CDCR, the county roster stops being the main locator and CDCR CIRIS becomes the correct tool. Federal and immigration custody follow separate locator systems.

The LASD 2024 Custody Division Population Year End Review listed North County Correctional Facility with a BSCC rated capacity of 2,214 and a 2024 yearly facility ADIP of 2,808. That placed NCCF 594 above rated capacity, or 27 percent over, in the LASD rated-capacity table. ADIP is an annual average daily inmate population, not a live count.

The supplemental security-level figures listed NCCF at low 216, medium 1,696, and high 897, for a 2024 facility total of 2,808. Those figures make NCCF one of the core high-volume sites in the Los Angeles County jail system. The research also notes that the custody reports index includes NCCF inspection, environmental health, mental-health, and nutrition documents, which is relevant because large facility counts can intersect with conditions and compliance reporting.

NCCF Inmate Lookup

Use the LASD Inmate Information Center for a North County Correctional Facility inmate lookup. The IIC requires last name and first name, allows middle name and date of birth, and uses reCAPTCHA. LASD says inmate records will not be available for bookings within the last 2 hours. For location help, call the inmate information line.

2. Enter both required name fields. Add date of birth when the name is common.
3. Check whether the result lists North County Correctional Facility or another LASD jail.
4. If the person was transferred after a state sentence, search CDCR CIRIS instead of LASD.

NCCF Visiting Rules

LASD visitation is scheduled through the official visit portal and current IVVS advisement. The research does not provide a fixed NCCF public-hours schedule, and the Phase B rules prohibit invented visit hours. LASD FAQ material says public visiting guidelines differ for each jail facility and that status "N" means the inmate is not able to receive visits at that time.

NCCF Mail Money

NCCF mail normally routes through the LASD central inmate mail address. Include the inmate's name and booking number. LASD mail rules bar debris, illegal substances, perfume, cologne, powders, lipstick, dried liquids, and similar materials. Items that can be obtained through jail stores are often not allowed from outside mail.

NCCF Intake Path

Most male Los Angeles County bookings flow through the Inmate Reception Center before assignment to NCCF. IRC handles booking and release, commitment records, property, mail routing, inmate trust and bail or fine accounts, warrants and detainers, daily counts, and classification. Classification means the jail decision about security level and housing needs.

NCCF may receive people after intake, classification, court movement, or transfer within LASD custody. That is why a person arrested in one part of Los Angeles County can later appear at the Castaic complex. For older proof of incarceration or release, LASD's Records and Identification Bureau process is separate from the live IIC roster and may require valid ID, fees, and a mail or in-person path.

NCCF Custody Context

NCCF is included in the custody reports page for inspection, environmental health, mental-health, and nutrition materials. The research also notes that NCCF is handled by the North Jail Mental Evaluation Team coverage. LASD JMET has two North teams for Pitchess facilities from Monday through Saturday on day shift. Each team is made up of one deputy and one mental health clinician.

Food-service details also connect NCCF to the rest of the Pitchess complex. Inspection material noted that food for Pitchess North inmates was provided by PDC South Ranch Kitchen and NCCF. That type of operational connection is why the facility list should preserve the exact Pitchess order and names. North County Correctional Facility is a sibling county jail facility to the Pitchess buildings, but its population and capacity profile is different.
